My China Girl
You were special to me from the day you were born
My best friend’s first baby the girl would go foreign
You were cute, a real lovely, you were my China girl
Your fate was set out, you’d have fun and some thrill
Then along came a most precious boy
Your brother Jack, made your life a real joy
You looked out for him always, he’s gorgeous and funny
He’s cool, a real cutie and the babes think a honey!
You started in Govan and moved to the West
Where God has designed that the girls who are best
Will live, attend Uni, make friends and go party
Twas then you became a bit arty farty
Your life panned out and you moved to Singapore
With Spanish, Holland and Greenridge galore
OFS studies were a challenge at the beginning
The hours they were long, but soon you were winning
You were a favourite student and voted by all
And once gave a speech in a very large hall
Orchard, Hawkers, Tiger and Spice
As you grew and blossomed you turned out real nice
You travelled the East and you really loved Bali
The beaches, the food, the people who party
Bintan was great, a short step away
In fact you could go there and spend just a day
Then Uni beckoned and you had many to choose
Glasgow was chosen and you had to move
You returned to the city and went to the Uni
You worked in the Windsor and met the odd looney
You graduate Thursday with honours my love
And then who knows what the big man above
Will map for your life and future my petal
Europe or Asia who knows where you’ll settle
I am your guardian angel and your fairy godmother in one
And whenever you need me, to you I will run,
I love you my angel and am so proud of you
For what you’ve achieved and for who you are too
Wherever you travel I am there in your head
From sunrise ‘til dawn when you lay down your head
You will prosper, be happy and healthy and smart
And for me you will always be held in my heart
